Beautiful landscapes are all around us and are challenging and an extremely rewarding genre of photography. The right light and paying attention to how it falls on the land is essential when creating powerful and meaning landscape images which don’t require any highly specialized equipment, but camera body and a kit lens is more than enough to get started. Nature offers us a huge amount of information – each rock, cloud or waterfall has a story to tell and speaks in a language of its own. It takes patience and conscious effort and the act of photography transports the photographer and the viewer into another world. Each image published in this issue is different and presents timeless actions of nature. It is still up to us to ensure these landscapes remain ecologically sound and environmentally pristine and for future generations. Be kind and aware that we are all guests here and planet earth is here to give us shelter.
